Perfect fall weather is coming. What better way to celebrate than with great views and brews? If you haven’t been to The Capital Wheel yet, it might be time.
Located just outside DC at the National Harbor, The Capital Wheel is open every single day, rain or shine. That’s possible because each gondola in the wheel is private and climate controlled at an ideal 72 degrees. From the 180-foot-tall wheel, which overlooks the Potomac River, visitors will take in views of Maryland and DC, but also NoVA. But this is nothing new. What is novel to the experience is the launch of a special new package just for beer lovers. The Elevation Celebration at The Capital Wheel includes two tickets, two beverages and two reusable souvenir cups for a total of $45.
Especially for the Elevation Celebration, True Respite Brewing has launched a beer inspired by a great experience at The Capital Wheel. The Perfect Day is a hazy double IPA. The hoppy can (a double IPA has twice as many hops as a regular IPA) is the sequel to another double IPA called It’s Too Foggy.
What’s the story? The pair of beers charts the tale of brewery owners Brendan and Bailey O’Leary taking their kids, Aidan and Aislinn, to National Harbor to ride The Capital Wheel on Father’s Day of 2019. Sadly, it was too foggy to see the surroundings and the family ended up skipping the ride. That inspired the first of the two beers. Luckily, the family returned to The Capital Wheel this summer and had a well, you know. And now couldn’t be a more beautiful time for a Perfect Day on the harbor with just the right hoppy beer to accompany you.
