When you find yourself with a hankering for a delicious burger, do you find yourself going to the same place? Why not break out of your routine and try something different? The five restaurants have everything from classic combos to gourmet options.
Big Buns D#*! Good Burgers
After opening in Ballston in 2007, the NoVA-based chain has since spread throughout the region and into Florida. While there are a handful of burgers from which to choose, one of our critics recommends the Anniversary BRGR. It’s topped with aged sharp cheddar, applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, shredded lettuce, and grain mustard aioli. Diners can also skip the bun and order one of the burger bowls. Multiple locations

Charred
If you appreciate a nice grilled burger, head over to Charred. It offers seven wood-grilled burgers, including the Cowboy Brisket Burger with smoked pulled barbecue, the Forager Burger with brie cheese, and Three Little Pigs Burger with bacon and pulled pork. 13047 Worldgate Dr., Herndon

Field & Main
Consistently named to Northern Virginia Magazine’s Best Restaurants list, it turns out the Marshall eatery is also a go-to spot for a juicy burger. Voted the best burger by readers in our 2023 NoVA Burger Wars contest, make sure to order the OooMami Smash Burger, which is made from Ovoka Farm’s wagyu beef, and topped with umami bacon jam, onions, and American cheese. 8369 W. Main St., Marshall

Melt Gourmet Cheeseburgers
With just over 20 options, it’s easy to find something to satisfy your cravings at Melt. Either order a classic like the bacon cheeseburger, expand your palate with one of the gourmet burgers, including the Greek Lamb Burger or Caprese Burger, or try the rotating Burger of the Month option. 525 E. Market St., Leesburg

Sloppy Mama’s
While this spot may be known for its mouthwatering barbecue options, don’t discount on the burger. Named one of the best 10 burgers in the DMV by The Washington Post, diners can choose between a regular or double cheeseburger, both served with American cheese, grilled onion, special sauce, and pickles. 5731 Langston Blvd., Arlington
