If you believe in the power of performing arts for children, then we’ve got news for you: Building Kidz School, a national preschool brand known for incorporating performing arts into the academic curriculum, recently opened its first Virginia location in Leesburg.
The preschool serves children as young as three months old, up to pre-kindergarten age, and, includes dance, music and theater within its academic experience, believing that doing so accelerates learning socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. Traditional topics, like math, science and language, are also incorporated into the curriculum.
Open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., classes include infants, toddlers, preschool and pre-kindergarten-aged children. Building Kidz also offers weekly performing arts lessons, as well as recitals and show productions throughout the year.
The building has a long history of child care: It was previously KinCaid Montessori, and, before that, was Chesterbrook Academy. The current owner, Tarun Srivastava, bought the property in February, and the location received its licensing in early May. The school is now open and is currently enrolling students for the upcoming school year.
