Dr. David Goodwin is specialized in the non-operative and surgical treatment of patients with shoulder, knee, hip, and sports injuries for both youth and adult patients.While in fellowship, Dr. Goodwin specialized in the treatment of athletic injuries, arthroscopy, and shoulder surgery, with a focus in hip arthroscopy and cartilage restoration techniques.
Dr. Goodwin is committed to providing state of the art care to his patients with advanced arthroscopy and joint preservation techniques. His expertise includes minimally invasive, arthroscopic, and reconstructive procedures of the knee, hip, and shoulder. He also brings extensive experience in the treatment of pediatric injuries and injury prevention in children.
In addition to his work at Arthritis & Sports Orthopedics, Dr. Goodwin is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the ArthroscopAssociation of North America (AANA). Dr. Goodwin is dedicated to caring for athletes in the area and is currently team physician for the John Champe Knights high school lacrosse teams, the NOVA Running Club, and the Old Dominion Football Club.
