Fairfax County police hope you can help them solve a feathery crime committed by a man they have dubbed the “bird bandit.” The crime is a strong-armed robbery. The suspect: A man wearing a black cowboy hat who had three live parrots with him.
Police said he held up a McDonald’s on Arlington Boulevard in Seven Corners with a knife around 8 a.m. Wednesday. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He’s described as a Hispanic man between the ages of 28 and 32 with tattoos. At the time of the crime, he also was wearing a patterned shirt. The birds are believed to be macaws. He left the area in a blue Ford SUV, police said.
