Could it be so? The carousel may return to Springfield Town Center.
Heritage Amusements wants to bring back the ride to the first level of the mall, in the area where Lego Discovery Center plans to open, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The amusement company is seeking the county’s approval for the carousel. The Springfield Town Center had one in the 1990s before it was redeveloped.
The town center, in an email to the Washington Business Journal, said it has a “vision of becoming a preeminent family entertainment destination, we are exploring several potential additions, including a carousel.”
Heritage has a lease for a spot for the carousel between the Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker, and it could be open in August or sooner.
Lego Discovery Center will open this summer. It will have more than two million Lego bricks and plenty of family-fun activities, including a 4-D cinema and workshops, within its 32,000 square feet.
