Money named Alexandria among its 50 Best Places to Travel in 2023. DC and Virginia’s Cape Charles also made the list.
Money’s recommendations are based on five categories: Bucket List; Family Friendly; Luxury on a Budget; Off-season; and Solo Travel. Ten travel experts weighed in.
The magazine noted Alexandria’s culinary scene, proximity to DC, and walkability. The museums in DC and how easy it is get around are noted among its highlights.
For Cape Charles, Money pointed out the Eastern Shore town’s inexpensive activities and affordable vacation rentals.
Alexandria also ranked No. 26 on Money’s list of the 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2022-2023.
The Northern Virginia city, along with Arlington, also recently made Niche’s list of the 2023 Best Places to Live in America.
On that list, Niche considered Arlington a city and ranked it No. 2 on its best cities list. Alexandria came in at No. 20.
Niche, a site that bills itself as one that connects colleges and schools with students and families, used federal and local government data and its own community reviews to come up with its annual rankings.
