As the warm summer days come to a close, we’re more and more likely to succumb to our tendencies to hibernate. But before you retreat indoors for the foreseeable future, take advantage of good weather while it lasts at these rooftop bars.
Don Tito
This three-level bar in Clarendon offers half-priced tacos, hookah and bottle service during its weekly Rooftop Tuesday special. While there, be sure to check out the Spanish-influenced menu that features several nacho and taco options. However, Don Tito doesn’t take reservations and it tends to fill up quickly, so get there early if you want a spot on the rooftop. // 3165 Wilson Blvd., Arlington
Whitlow’s on Wilson
Just down the street from Don Tito, Whitlow’s on Wilson has won the Arlington Chamber of Commerce Best Business Award four years in a row and is renowned for its happy hours and its spacious rooftop; the tiki-themed space is one of the biggest in the area, and the bar offers a variety of weekly events and deals, including craft beer and trivia Wednesdays, half-priced sandwiches on most days of the week, live music on Fridays and an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet on Saturday and Sundays. // 2854 Wilson Blvd., Arlington
Dogwood Tavern
Class up the dog days of summer at this rustic bar that balances its vintage aesthetic with the modern comforts of mounted flat-screen TVs and rooftop fans. Clarendon Ballroom
Cool down at this rooftop bar with complimentary cornhole and a 3,000-square-foot dance floor.
