Methodology: To compile the Top Lawyers listing, we sent surveys to Northern Virginia and DC lawyers asking them to recommend other lawyers to whom they would refer friends and family. Those on the listing received the most nominations. While the lawyers on this list practice in Northern Virginia and/or DC, they may also be licensed to practice in Maryland and other parts of the United States. Although some Top Laywer winners choose to advertise in the magazine, lawyers cannot pay to be included on the list.
